REPORT FROM „9ᵗʰ EUROPEAN SYMPOSIUM ON POULTRY NUTRITION“

Sažetak
The symposium was held from 5th to 9th september 1993. year in Poland. As usual the lectures were given by invited speakers, leading specialists in poultry nutrition research. The first topic on the schedule was the use of lower value feedstuffs, i.e rye, triticale, barley and rapeseed meal. The second topic was the waterfowl feeding. The third issue was represented by lectures on microorganisms in the digestive tract, carbohydrates digestibility and feed intake under nutrient deficiency conditions. The factors affecting absorption of harmful substances, malabsorption syndrome and effect of nutritional factors on the occurrence of ascites were the next topic. Feed additives of new generation were also dealt with, as expected. The last topic was the round table discussion on amino acids or protein requirement in poultry. The posters illustrating the topic of the day and the relevant discussion were regularly on display. The symposium assembled 200 participants consisting of specialists in the field and people from associate industries. ln paper are given very shortly the most interesting parts of the lectures.
