RESULTS OF CHANGES IN RIPENING PERIOD OF SPRING BARLEY IN OSIJEK, 1960.

Sažetak

In order to find out the duration of vegetative period of some varieties of barley, every day analysis have been made during one month in connection with germination, assimilation of dry matter and augmentation of hectolitric and absolute weight.The tested varieties included three sorts of spring barley - Herta,Haisa II and Isaria. Since June 8th fifty of the average spikes of each variety have been taken off from 8 VI to 8 VII 1960. This plants was teken from the micro-plots of the experimental field of the Institute for Advancement of Agriculture in Osijek. Obtained results gave us following informations: The rapid loss of water was found at Herta and Isaria at 2 VII, like signe of early maturity, while the some phenomen was observed by Haisa between July 5-8th. At the beginning the value of increasing of dry matter was equal and low for each variety – 1 gr.of weight of 1000 corns and increased in last date on 6-12 gr. The hectolitric and absolute weight was influenced according to the stage of ripenning. The full size of grains attain Herta and Isaria from 29 VI to 2 VII, and Haisa 5 VII.The same order was obtained, but in earlier period; in Hl- weight. The early varieties attain higher degree of energy of germination in the first terms of harvest, while later disappeared ones.
