Sažetak
The Institute of Archaeology continued the conservation works on Vrbovec Castle in Klenovec Humski. Due to a limited budget, it had to be decided which parts of the tower discovered in 2014 would be conserved this year. It was finally decided that the walls in the north part of the tower should be conserved because they are exposed to strong northern winds and colder climate. In other words, that part was estimated to be in need of urgent protection. In addition, there were some repairs on the walls secured by Calx Romano aggregate, which has proven to be too weak to resist the harsh winter conditions.
During the conservation works, the approach was to fix and consolidate, without any reconstruction or upgrade. This involved grouting the outer walls and completing the wall layout just enough to make a protective cap. The original building technique was respected as much as possible.
