Sažetak
The most accurate estimate of milk production of dairy cows is made by the daily test. This method is technically cumbersome and cortly. Because of that, there has been applied the estimation of milk production in the lactation by the periodical test. In relation to this it arises the problem of the span of time between consequent tests, that gives the most accurate estimate of the milk production in the lactation of individual dairy cows. On the other side, there is a problem of accuracy of the estimate of the average milk production of the group of dairy cows by the periodical tests and the span of time between tests also. This is important for the estimate of milk production of dairy heifer-cows that are used in progeny tests. In order to contribute to the knowledge of the problem of the most convenient span of time between two tests, there has been made on investigation of the effect of the length of this span on the accurary of the milk production estimation. The basis was the true milk production got by the daily weighting of milk produced. With this production there has been made the comparisons of the estimates of milk production using tests with intervals of 7, 14, 21, 28, 60 and 90 days. The results of the investigations are presented in tables No 1, 2, 3, and 4.
