ERIH - A NEW CULTIVAR OF SPRING BARLEY

Sažetak
Erih spring varley was breed by Dr.h.c. Carste INH, Erhardt Eger KG - Germany and was introduced by Bc lnstitute d.d. - Zagreb. lt was tested under the code CHE 4449.88. This cultivar has performed well in official trials. Erih is included into the List of recommended cultivars of Croatia from 1996. The potential yield combined with early maturity, lodging resistance, simiresisting, excellene malting quality confirm that Erin can be considered as a replacement in Croatia. lt is complementary cultivar being best adapted to earlier sowing times. The name Erih was chosen to recognize the contributions to barley research of Dr. Erich Knopf.
