Sažetak
Among the large number of varieties available it is very difficult for the producers to select the best assortiment for specific growing conditions. Therefore, the value of a certain variety is most often judged from the results of large-scale trials conducted on a number of forms. Although such testing has a few short comings (soil heterogeneity, number of varieties and sites, different levels of cultural practices, stastical data analysis etc.), large-scale variety trials still ofter useful information about properties of a particular variety to producers and breeders alike. The highest average grain yield over three years and 12 locations altogether was produced by the winter wheat variety TINA (7,23 t/ha) and it rated first for two years (in 1993. and 1995). lt out yield the well known and well accepted varieties, Marija (7,21 t/ha) and Sana (6,85 t/ha). In comparison with the standard variety, Sana, it was superior by 5,54% (0,38 t) and b13,32% (0,85,t) better than, the standard variety Žitarka (6,38 t/ha). High yield was also produced by the new variety, PATRIA (6,97 t/ha) which is an average of 15 locations over three years of testing ad was rated sixth in grain yield. As compared to Sana, its yield was by 1.75% higher (0,12 t), and in comparison with Žitarka, by 9,24% move yielding (0,59 t). Based on these and earlier testins we may as well say that these are varieties with hogh yielding potential and very good quality of gran and flour. They deserve to find their place in wide production. In 2-year testings, high yielding capacity and good quality traits of grain and flour was recorded in varieties: RINA, PLODNA, PAKRA and ALENA, the leading varieties in these large-scale trials. Plodna produced 7,31 t/ha, which is on, average of seven locations over two years (5 in 1993. an 2 n 1994.), Rina (7,21t/ha) of 10 locations (6 n 1993. and 4 in 1995), Alena (6,81 t/ha) an average of 11 locations (7 in 1993. and 4 in 1995), and Pakra (6,70 t/ha), an average of seven locations (3 in 1994. and 4 in 1995.). Variety DAVORKA, also exhibited high-yielding ability and in 1993. produced 8,27 t/ha at five locations. Among the new lines, Bc 575/89 should be pointed out. It produced 7,81 t/ha at two locations in 1994., and was thus first in these large-scale trials. Among the leading materials in testing, noteworthy is Bc 6937/90, because is produced 7,05 v at, six locations in 1994. In 1996., it was registered by the Croatian Committee for Variety Registration under the name MIRJANA.
