Sažetak
According to the Regulations on the Protection from Electromagnetic Fields, all parts of electric power systems (EPS) with voltages exceeding 1 kV are sources of low frequency electromagnetic fields. The European Union has in place the 2013/35 EU Directive governing the identification of work places subject to significant electromagnetic field values as well as identification of workers in jobs where they may be exposed to the impact of such fields. To assist employers, workers and their representatives in gaining a better understanding and implementation of the Directive, Chief Directorate for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission has drafted the Guidelines on good practice in implementing the 2013/35 EU Directive.
The paper outlines the regulations for the protection from electromagnetic fields. Also listed are the maintenance jobs in electric power systems with risk of exposure to electromagnetic fields and the proper methods of measuring and calculating the levels of electromagnetic fields in each section of an EP system. Measuring and calculation of the levels of electromagnetic fields and appropriate worker protection from risk requires expertise and skill, thus this paper is purely informative in character.
