Sažetak
In the past, economic development was based on comparative advantages, such as cheap labour and productive resources, but today it is based on knowledge, developed infrastructure, high technology and innovation. Acceptance rate of innovation determines how long the company will be on the market due to competitiveness and originality in relation to competition. In all sectors just as in tourism sector new technology solutions emerge and they have effect on increasing the quality, enhancing the destination’s reputation in different areas such as sustainable tourism, eco-tourism etc., which ultimately affects the competitiveness. Since sustainable management is of great importance for tourism it encourages companies to adapt their tourist offer to market demands, guided by the knowledge that natural resources should be constantly held and used in a sustainable manner which sometimes involves the use of new technologies and renewable energy sources. The aim of this paper is to show the possible concept of application of renewable energy sources and technologies in the new tourist offer. Moreover, it is necessary to respect the sustainability and protection of nature which can contribute to the concept of new tourist offer that is completely independent from energy sources used in the most businesses, and is economically viable.
