Sažetak
The population structure on family farms has radically changed, and especcialy revealed from the 40's of the 20th century till nowadays. Many social-economical impacts, low levels of agricultural income and productivity on family farms leaded to progressive off-farm employment, which occurred through diminished total and work¬active agricultural population and migrations from rural areas to coastal cities.
Data collected by poll-questionnare revealed that in Istra County the majority of agricultural population on family farms was pluriactive (75,32%), employed off-farm (70,58% of total work-active population) so agriculture was the main income base for only 15,56% family farms.
Inasmuch the complexity off employment was in the County and off-farm employment for the youth a basic stimulation path for deagrarisation, agricultural income should be enlarged (bank loanes, agricultural market, new on-farm activities agrotourism, crafts etc) and assure a desired economical and social frame for living and working on family farms.
