Sažetak
The thought of the »last God« of German philosopher Martin Heidegger, presented in the work Beiträge zur Philosophie (Vom Ereignis), is of central importance for understanding his late thought, but also contemporary philosophy marked by Nietzsche´s proclamation that »God is dead«. In order to substantiate these claims, in the introduction the author first presents issues related to Heidegger and Christian thought in general. After that he sketches the context within which the discourse on the last God emerges; this includes circumstances in which the work Beiträge zur Philosophie (Vom Ereignis) was written and a critique of onto-theo-logy as well as a short overview of the relation of gods, beyng, and the human being. The article continues with a critical review of the discourse on the last God: why is he the last, what does it mean that he is opposed to the Christian God, what is the role of the human being in his/her encounter with the divine, and which nuances of meaning are revealed through this, at first glance, simple event of encounter that includes God´s wink and passage. In the final part and on the basis of previous insights, the author reflects on the possible guidelines for further understanding of Heidegger´s discourse on the last God within contemporary philosophical and theological thought.
