Abstract

On the sample of 63 boys aged 8-18 years standards for growth in 12 anthropometric measures are provided, using mixed longitudinal — cross-sectionally collected data. These standards are suitable for following the growth of individuals. The results show that the peak of the adolescent growth in height occurs between the thirteenth and the fourteenth year of age. A year later the maximum increase in weight as well as in limb circumferences is observed. The thickness of subcutaneous limb fat starts decreasing at 12 years of age. The maximum decrease corresponds to the highest height velocity. Secular trend in height and weight is observed. The values for height and weight of the sample correspond to those of the best developed populations.
