Sažetak

The aim of this paper is to point to fundamental
changes in trends in the global media market. In
recent years, no significant changes have occurred
in the old media industry. In this segment of
the industry, the US remains the leading media
market in terms of earnings, followed by the
markets of Asia and Europe. Within the industry
of new media, especially video games, the Asia
and Pacific market has taken over the revenue
earned in relation to other markets. The growth
of video game revenue growth in the Asian
market has directly affected the revenue growth
of video games and the Chinese market. In the
video game industry, the highest revenue is
generated by smart phones and tablets, and as a
result, China has taken the lead in earnings from
the traditionally largest market in the US. China's
video game revenue grows year-by-year at a
higher rate than US revenue growth. In Europe,
revenues are starting to stagnate and no major
growth is expected in the coming years.
