Brotherhood and Unity at the Table? Yugoslav Cookbooks and Culinary Textbooks

Abstract
The author of the paper presents a lesson plan on cookbooks and student’s books on cookery and gastronomy printed in the SFR Yugoslavia. It encourages secondary school teachers to incorporate not only factual knowledge and political concepts but also the history of everyday life when teaching about the history of SFR Yugoslavia. According to the proposed lesson plan, students will analyze and discuss historical sources and improve their presentation skills and group work. Individual work, group work, presentation and comparison methods, as well as homework ideas are also included. Moreover, the article offers worksheets and group work questions as well.
