The factor structure of decathlon

Sažetak

From the sample of 126 male students in the 21-28 year old group, from the Physical Education Faculty in Sarajevo, the results of the decathlon disciplines were measured.
After basic parameters, distributions and correlations of variables were calculated, Hottellling's principal axis method was applied with minimum common variance criterion, this yielded only one significant principal axis of the decathlon disciplines.
This was explained by the fact that analysed decathlon belong to the common space, that explosive strength is dominant in the variance of these disciplines and that the students were equally well trained in all decathlon disciplines.
