JEWS IN MOSTAR (Contribution to truth and clearness)

Sažetak

The article gives a short overview of the Jewish presence in Mostar from
the middle of the 19th century till today. The quintessence of this topic
is suffering of Jews in the Independent State of Croatia in this area. The
article warns of many flat assessments of different authors who have been
writing about this topic. This text brings different lists of Jews which reveal
a real presence of this national and religious community in Mostar and
its suffering in the hard times of the Second World War. Therefore this text
has a pretension to correct past incorrect lists of Jews in Mostar.
