Sažetak
To find out the causes of injuries occurring during practical classes on physical education in the course of the school year 1970/71, inquiry was made of any injury that occurred during practical classes on physical education in that year. The simple comprised 26.753 male and female pupils from Zagreb primary and secondary schools. Ninety-three teachers and several collaborators took part in this investigation.
By summing up primary and secondary causes it may be concluded that the highest number of injuries is connected with bad technique. The other causes are as follows: carelessness, accidentally caused injuries by another person through carelessness, slippery ground, overestimation of one's own abilities, rudeness, damaged ground, existing or passed disease or injury, fatigue, inadequate shoes and clothes, deliberately caused injury by another pupil, lack of shoes, insufficient training.
A series of preventive measures are proposed to the reduce in that future the number of injuries occurring at practical classes of physical education.
