Education for Environment, Education in the Environment or Education on the Basis of Nature?

In today's society there is an established need for education regarding our environment and sustainability and especially regarding the influence such an education has on the entire development of a child, it is necessary that it is developed and implemented in the educational process. Environmental education is examined through a prism of basic human rights and we discuss if the lack of environmental education will potentially break the basic human rights of a child. This paper points out the importance of play in nature and interactions with nature and the world around it. In this paper we analyse the idea of environmental education in preschool environments. We elaborate on the premise of child education for "environment and sustainable development". We draw on the ideas from the past Like Rousseau's education in nature and forest schooling and we endeavour to connect the postulates on which environmental education and sustained development rest as well as ways of interpretation of the importance and benefits of nature and education in nature. Furthermore, with the analysis of research conducted relating to influence of nature on education and interactions of the child and nature we wish to solidify the connection and the importance of environmental education in an academic and practical environment, meaning in nature itself. With further analysis of other conducted research elements are described which define positive influences of education in nature. Critical examination and comparison of Rousseau's ideas we interpret the concept of environmental education and sustainability and extrapolate variables that could be the subject of further research with the final aim being the in depth understanding of developments and connections within the described concept.
