Sažetak

Six lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) accessions from the Collection of medicinal and aromatic plants of the Croatian bank of plant genes originating form Austria (2), Croatia (1), Germany (2) and the Netherlands were included in the field experiment. Main qualitative morphological traits as leaf colour, leaf shape, inflorescence form and inflorescence colour were analysed. On ten randomly chosen plants per plot the following quantitative traits were scored: plant height and number of branches as well as the fresh and dried weight of stems, roots and leaves.
No variation in qualitative traits has been found among and within accessions while all the quantitative traits showed a great variation within as well as among accessions. No statistically significant differences were found in two agronomically most important traits: the weight of fresh and dried leaves per plant. The accession HBG00147 from Austria showed the highest values of fresh and dried leaves weight per plant.
