Sažetak

The study was carried out on a sample of 109 students, enrolled in 9 generations (1986/69 to 1976/77) at the Faculty for Physical Culture in Zagreb. The sample included only those students who had previously passed the following courses: Kinesiologic intonation, Rhythmic and Sports Gymnastics, and Dances.
The sample of variables consisted of 12 standardized procedures for assessment of sense of rhythmic which are the major part of the exam in the Kinesiological Intonation course. These 12 standardized procedures were used as prediction variables (Rhythm from 1. to 5. variable; Tambourine from 6. to 10 variables; Melo-Rhythm 11. variable and Melo-Rhythm Tambourine 12. variable). Two criterion variables included one standardized procedure for assessment of results in the Rhythmic and Sports Gymnastics course (Gymnastics) and one standardized procedure for assessment of results in Dance (folk) course (Dance).
The work established the relations between results in carrying out rhythmic tasks and results in rhythmic and sports gymnastics on the selected level of 0.05 is not significant. This outcome need not mean that rhythm as a musical component has no effect on results in rhythmic itself and particularly rhythm in the border sense of the word (rhythm, measure and tempo) is a component of exercises in rhythmic and sports gymnastics.
The multiple correlation between results in carrying out rhythmic tasks and results in dances on the selected level of 0.05 is significant and would be significant even at a stricter level of 0.01. The effect of rhythm on results in dances in relatively great (the multiple correlation is 0.48). The percentage of variance explained by rhythmic tasks is 0.23, which is a relatively greater determination coefficient with regard to the area of study and keeping in mind that assessment of results in dances included also the subjects' theoretic knowledge.
