Application of marketing to the development of sport in Croatia

Sažetak
Marketing in sport represents a business activity of a person directly engaged in the field of sport. The objective of this activity is to meet the requirements in sport and to achieve a business result at the same time. Marketing is applicable in all fields of sport: in the field of education, in competitive sport and in sports recreation.
The basic characteristic of marketing in sport is that the economic effects of sport are evaluated on the market, either directly or in interaction with other economic activities. The future development of the Croatian top-level sport will be based on its own marketing concept, which should be developed by sports marketing specialists and the specially educated sport managers.
