Sažetak
A sample of 51 first year male students at the Faculty for Physical Culture in Zagreb was studied. The students were aged 19 to 24 and enrolled in the 1979/80 schoolyear. They were selected according to their motor abilities tested at the entrance exam.
The measuring was carried out at the winter swimming pool "Mladost" in Zagreb, the dimensions of which are 25x16 m, at the water temperature of 24-25 C. The parameters were measured with a digital clock of a 1/10 sec precision.
These tests were carried out:
1. the swimming speed of the crawl technique 2x25 m with a starting jump (BK 3-25)
2. the speed of crawl start 3x6 m (BK 3-6)
3. the swimming speed of the crawl technique 3x8 (BK 3-8)
4. the speed of the stroke in crawl 3x12.5 m (BKZ 3-25)
5. the swimming speed of leg craw 3x12.5 m (BKN 3-12.5)
6. the swimming speed of arm crawl 3xx12.5 m (BKR 3-12.5)
These values of the tests were determined:
- the arithmetic average, the standard deviation, the minimum and maximum results in each item of the test
- the intercorrelation matrix of the items of the best
- the reliability coefficients (SB)
- the percentage of explained variance in the intercorrelation matric of items (PCT)
- the coefficient of representatives (MSA)
- Cronbach's coefficient of generalizability (ALFA) and
- the average correlation among the items of the test (RMS).
The obtained results show that the tests 1. 3. 4. and 6. have high metric values and that only one measuring would show a reliable result. The other tests have lower, but satisfactory metric values.
