Sažetak

The investigation was carried out on a sample of 180 men aged 21 to 23. They were participants on a three--month course in rowing. The participants were previously subjected to testing of motor abilities by means of 74 motor tests that yield (in the study of Metikoš and others, 1982) 11 primary motor factors. The results of regression analysis have shown that 8 out of 11 factors take part in the correlation between motor space and achievement in learning the rowing technique. These are: coordination, realization of rythmic structures, balance, movement frequency, speed of simple movements, precision, flexibility and explosive force. These motor abilities serve to explain 83% or correlation, established on the level of .01 significance. Most of the primary motor abilities responsible for the significant correlation with the achievement in rowing technique are dominated by the system for movement structuring. An evident contribution to learning to learning the rowing technique is made by coordination and realization of rythmic structures, whereas the contribution of the other six abilities is somewhat less expressed.
