The canonic relations between some motor variables and scores in swimming

Sažetak
The study was carried out on the sample of 115 full-time male students aged 22 to 24 at the Faculty of Physical Education in Sarajevo with the aim to determine the relation between some indicators of motor ability (25 variables: explosive force, repetitive force, static force, speed of simple movements and flexibility) and swimming scores at 50, 100 and 200 m (all techniques - 9 variables Hotellinga canonic correlation analysis an nihilated te zero hypothesis about non-existence of canonic dimensions were isolated on the level of p=0.01, with the canonic correlation coefficients of . 686 and .654 pointing to a significant correlation between those two sub-space and accounting for about 50% of total variability.
The definition of the first pair of canonic dimensions mostly involves force variables (primarily static). Flexibility and longer distance swimming (100, 200 m). The second pair of canonic dimensions was significantly affected by 12 motor variables (without a single variables of speed of simple movements) and all swimming variables.
