Determining basketball players types according to standard indicators of situation-related efficiency

Sažetak
Four homogeneous groups (types) were obtained by using the hierarchical cluster analysis (by Ward’s method based on Euclidean distances) on 70 basketball players (out of the 8 teams participating in the Croatian Basketball Championship finals in 1994, with an average of more than ten minutes playing lime per game), in the space of 13 standard indicators of the situation-related efficiency, which have been defined according to the discriminant analysis as: group A – OUTSIDE PLAYERS, group B - PLAYERS-SPECIALISTS, group C - ALL-ROUNP PLAYERS and group D – INSIDE PLAYERS. The classification obtained is in consonance with the current functional distribution model in top basketball.
