Sažetak

The sample of 809 males aged 19 to 27 served the frequency of 40 violents of the law that are classified as asocial, antisocial and delinquent forms of behavior, irrespective of the time they were committed or whether they were discovered or not. Engagement in sports was for these subjects assessed by the values on the first major component of the four parallel Thurston's scales for the assessment of intensity and achievement in sport. The relations between sports engagement and social and antisocial forms of behavior were determined under two models of regression analysis: the model of least squares and the model of maximum covariance. No significant correlation was found under the first model; under the second model a weak but statistically significant correlation (0.15) was found that may be attributed to a somewhat greater frequency of aggressive modalities of asocial and delinquent behavior and a significantly lower frequency of involvement in delinquent groups of those individuals that are systematically engaged in sport and achieve above-average results.
