Sažetak
Some techniques for isolation of natural, biologically active substances from free or artificially growing plant materials is presented, with special attention to essential oils. Many crude oils, concretes and fragrances of industrial importance may be efficiently produced from selected plants, that may be cultivated in large extent in the Adriatic area region. Development of processes for oils isolation from plant materials are shown in historical perspective, that has led to modern and effective equipment design and operation. An invention of integrated extraction-distillation apparatus called Multistar is shown, which allows compact, if necessary mobile, layout.
