A taxonomix analysis of functional characteristics in young sports of Croatia

Sažetak
The functional typologic distribution of participants was analyzed on a sample of 169 perspective Croatian sportists. The taxonomic analysis was applied, based on the factor model (Szirovica et al, 1977). The results showed that in the space of investigated functional characteristics of the sample, it was possible to isolate four taxonomic variables with each participant occupying relatively stable position on each of them.
The first taxonomic variable is characterized by an expressive underdevelopment of all links in the oxygen transport system and a poorly expressed extensional ability of the trunk.
The second taxonomic variable is defined above all by very developed dynamogenic abilities and poor cardiovascular abilities of the system.
The third functional taxonomic variable is predominantly characterized by strong oxyferous traits of the blood and a low aerobic capacity.
The fourth taxonomic variables is characterized by an above-average functional ability of the analyzed characterized.
