FRANCISCANS AND THEIR CONVENTS IN THE HUM

Sažetak

The female author in this article deals with arrival and working of the Franciscans in the Hum area, the importance of the foundation of their convents, but he also deals with working of the Glagolitic priests in Hum. Convents in Hum were built from 14th to 15th century and they were built in Ston, Novi Imotski, Mostar and Ljubuški. These convents
became permanent and important bases of the Catholic Church. The Franciscans were working on the entire Bosnian-Hum area with the exception of the eastern part of the Hum area. Although the Franciscans gave an important contribution for developing Catholicism in this area, neither the importance of the work of the Glagolitic priests should be neglected.
