Sažetak

Every organization is a part of a larger system it operates in, and it is under the influence of economic, social, legal and other factors. In order to remain competitive and to succeed, it is important to accept and adapt to those elements. For that reason, organizational changes are getting attention from scientists, psychologists, doctors and even business experts. More and more recognition is given to the individual employee readiness, as it is recognized as the crucial element upon which the change implementation success or failure depends. The purpose of this paper is to show main theories that were developed in the field of organizational change management and to show the importance of employees during the change implementation process. The case study is focused on a construction company that went through numerous changes in almost 30 years in business. Results of a study show that men show higher change readiness than women. The highest change readiness is demonstrated by directors and employees with high university education. The contribution of the paper is reflected in the early phases of organizational change studies, and it can be interesting to the scientist and business community who show interest in change management, especially for small and medium sized businesses.
