Studij glazbe u Splitu - od Više pedagoške škole do Umjetničke akademije
Vedrana Milin-Ćurin
Sažetak
The study of music in Split started at a higher teaching school in 1958, when
the study group for music was formed. Apart as an one - subject study, the
study can be combined with one of the following languages: Croatian, Italian,
English. In 1961/62 it was transformed into the teacher - training college, a
two - year school for educating trained personnel intended for working at
elementary schools, the study continued to exist under the name MUSIC.
The four-year study of music for educating professors of the musical culture
began in the school year 1979/80. There was also the study that included
work for professors that had already finished a two-year music study.
Basically, the music study in Split is intended for educated teachers and it
has developed at the same time as the various study groups within the Faculty
of sciences.
The regional department of the Music Academy in Zagreb was developed in
Split in 1971 with the aim to assist in creating potentials that will strengthen
the educational and artistic music developments in Dalmatia.
The two-year piano study became very soon the four-year study, with the
gradual opening of new sections (for stringed instruments, singers and guitar).
Strengthening the instructional, trained staff at the teaching and artistic studies,
demands and needs for high-educational musical studies (that were
concentrated in Zagreb until now), developed a basis for integration of already
existing musical studies in Split. In October, 1997 the Art Academy was
formed with departments for the piano, for the stringed instruments such as
the violin and guitar; for singing and for the teaching study of musical,
culture.
From the next academic year studies for flutes, violoncello and clarinet will
join the other departments that have been already mentioned.
