Abstract

The aim of this paper provides the importance of determining user satisfaction as a leading argument in advocating for preservation of the identity and of the original role of the academic library. In the communication-dynamic system of higher education, the traditional informational, cultural, public and educational role of the academic library is being transformed, and with the aim of successful partnership and improvement of business processes at the parent institution, the academic library takes new roles. With the aim of continued monitoring of the quality level of library services, the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka has been conducting an annual survey of users' satisfaction with library services since 2016. This paper presents a comparative analysis of the results of 2016 and 2021. The results presented the extent to which the Library manages to meet user needs compared to the requirements of the proactive higher education environment in which it exists.
