Abstract

From the text: ''In 2021, a book entitled Protecting & Indemnity (P&I) Insurance and Compulsory Insurance under International Maritime Conventions was published as a private edition by Marija Pospišil, PhD, an expert in the field of marine insurance law with a longterm career in handling insurance claims in P&I clubs in England and Hong Kong. The author examines the legal issues of traditional shipowner liability insurance through P&I clubs with special reference to compulsory liability insurance according to international conventions, including the 1962 Convention on the Liability of Operators of Nuclear Ships, the 1969 International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage (CLC) as amended by the Protocol of 1992, the 1996 International Convention on Liability and Compensation for Damage in Connection with the Carriage of Hazardous and Noxious Substances by Sea (HNS) and its Protocol of 2010, the 2001 International Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage (BUNKER), the 2002 Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea (PAL), the 2007 Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, and the Maritime Labour Convention of 2006. The material in the book is analysed clearly and systematically.''
