Sažetak

An investigation into ploughing with standard and welded ploughshares was done on sandy clay soil (Eugley hipogley) in Baranja, the north-east part of Croatia. Ploughshares mass loss, field capacity of work unit, tractor fuel consumption and direct costs (fuel and ploughshares costs) were investigated in the period of 40, 80 and 120 ploughing hours as well as 20, 40 and 60 each ploughshare work hours. After 60 work hours the lowest mass loss was with welded ploughshares made of steel with guaranteed chemical structure (Welded II), 11.64% of initial mass, while in the same period standard ploughshares loost 13.15% of the initial mass. Plough with welded ploughshares II during 120 ploughing hours achieved the highest average field capacity of 0.72 ha/h and the lowest average fuel consumption of 27.40 L/ha. The lowest fuel and ploughshares costs were also with welded ploughshares II 235.49 HRK/ha, which were 8.20% lower in comparison with costs with standard ploughshares. The average speed of work unit during investigation was 6.04 km/h and the average ploughing depth was 30.2 cm.
