Morphological variety of the olive cultivar Oblica (Olea europaea L.)

Sažetak

The processes of natural hybridisation and mutations as well as selections done by olive tree growers in the long time of olive cultivation resulted in the significant morphological differences of the same cultivar. A big problem in quality cultivar identification are numerous synonyms and homonyms of the same cultivar in different growing areas. With the aim of finding internal variety of olive cultivar Oblica we start with investigations in three typical olive growing area in Croatia (Konavle Dalmatinska Zagora and Kvarner). According to morphological parameters samples of Oblica olive from different places significantly differed, and even in the same growing area.
