Sažetak

The aim of the trial was to establish the effect of feed mixtures of plant origin containing different amounts of crude protein (CP) and metabolic energy (MEN) on body mass and feed conversion of pheasants (Phasianus cholcicus) aged from 1 to 80 days. There were 600 one day old pheasant chickens divided into three groups (A, B and C) of 200 birds fed mixtures with a high level of CP and MEN (A), a decreased level (B) and a low level (C) of raw protein and metabolic energy. Each feed mixture was prepared in four variants (A1 – A4; B1 – B4; C1 – C4) respecting the pheasant chickens needs in their growth (age 1-20 days/variant 1, age 21-40 /variant 2, age 41-60/variant 3 and age 61-80 days/variant 4). All the pheasant chickens were kept in holes on deep bedding in equal experimental conditions and feed and water were ad libitum. At the end of the trial the average body mass of pheasant chickens in groups A, B and C was 0.782, 0.754 and 0.751 kg with average daily gain of 9.78, 9.43 and 9.39 g. The highest growth intensity was recorded in the chickens aged 30-40 days, when the average daily gain ranged from11.9 to 12.9 g. The growth intensity in cockerels aged 80 days was higher by 30% in comparison with pullets. The average feed mixture consumption per chicken on day 80 of age was 4.52 kg (group A), 4.22 kg (group B) and 4.63 kg (group C).
