Sažetak

The area of ellipsoidal trapezium can be calculated by using the exact formula or its approximation. The application of approximate formulas, which are derived by expanding into the binomial series, requires a preliminary determination of number of terms to insure the needed accuracy. The theoretical derivations are illustrated by computing the areas of topographic maps sheets of Yugoslav territory.
