Sažetak

The paper shows a stone road through the Kalnik Mountains that connects the
Bednja river valley and the southern side Kalnik mountains. Its characteristics correspond
to Roman construction in the time after the Roman conquest Illyricum.
Previous works dealing with Roman road construction in northwestern Croatia and
the technical characteristics of Roman roads. Some solutions have been proposed
open questions about the routes of the Roman roads, primarily towards Sisak and
about the stations in the known late antique itineraries. The reasons why the described
path would correspond to the medieval one are given Via magna. The
route of the road is described in detail and the visibility of the Roman parts of the
road is indicated distances, from its beginning to its descent into the Kalnik’s lowland.
Technical ones are compared road characteristics with previous knowledge
about Roman roads. Maps and photos complete it display.
