Catechetic Movements After the Council

; Katolički bogoslovni fakultet Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, Zagreb, Hrvatska
Sažetak
The article starts with the fact that catechesis changed its image in the period after the Council when compared to the previous paradigm. This change can be recognized at four interrelated levels.
The first part presents an interactive dialogue of theology and pedagogy with positive effects on religious pedagogy and catechesis. The second part deals with the opening of catechesis toward the psychology of human development. The third part refers to catechesis, which corresponds to the hermeneutic sciences, especially with biblical hermeneutics. In the fourth part the author discusses the tension arising between catholic theology, minor Christian communities, global religions and the freedom of consciousness within the lay educational system. The focus of the fourth part is on the position of confessional catechism in public schools. In the fifth part the author gives the main results, i.e. conclusions ensuing from the balance sheet, which was conducted in the field of catechesis in the period following the Council. This is the basis of perspectives of catechesis for the period, which has already begun. Instead of a conclusion the author reminds us that the time has come to create a balance sheet of Croatian catechesis for the period following the Council and points out that this contribution may serve as a scientific working hypothesis for such a task.
