Sažetak

The aim of this study was to determine the possibilities of using ARKOD data for geospatial analysis with satellite imagery, in particular from the European Space Agency's Sentinel-3 satellite mission. Their overlay is necessary for studies on the suitability of cultivated areas for certain crops, as a basis for the eventual regionalization and consolidation of agricultural areas, using ARKOD data for the calibration of remote sensing data. The study area covered the continental biogeoregion of the Republic of Croatia, with a sevenyear study period from 2015 to 2021. The analysis of the usability of ARKOD data for use in analyzes with Sentinel-3 satellite imagery was carried out in relation to five stages of filtering ARKOD data according to the criteria: 1) multiple records of different crops for the same ARKOD plot in one year, 2) minimum ARKOD plot area of 6.75 ha, 3) soybean as a registered agricultural crop, 4) ARKOD plot shape index greater than 0.5, and 5) consecutive registration of soybean as a cultivated agricultural crop in two consecutive years on the same ARKOD plot. The results of this study suggest that revising the definition of the ARKOD parcel to include only one agricultural crop would significantly improve the use of ARKOD data in geospatial analyzes with satellite imagery and would very likely facilitate the process of controlling the allocation of agricultural incentives. Regionalization and consolidation of agricultural land are the most complete solutions for the establishment of ARKOD plots with regular geometric shapes. Finally, these results indicate that it is necessary to find the real cause of the occurrence of records of the same crop on the same ARKOD plots for two or more years in a row, which directly degrades the quality of the soil in the long term and pollutes the environment due to the inevitable increase in the amount of agricultural inputs used.
