Sažetak
This paper investigates mathematics teachers' attitudes towards the PhotoMath application in the context of solving mathematical problems, and identifies variations in these attitudes based on the level of instruction, educational qualifications, and experience. The respondents were 332 teachers from four cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 2023/2024 school year. A questionnaire with 27 items, adopted from the study by Hamadneh & Al-Masaeed (2015), was used for data collection, and secondary data from the literature were also analysed.
The data analysis included calculating means, standard deviations, and t-tests to assess differences between groups, and a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to examine statistically significant differences among the groups. The results indicate a moderately positive attitude among teachers towards the PhotoMath application, emphasising its importance in assisting with solving mathematical problems, but also highlighting concerns about the potential replacement of the traditional role of the teacher. Although no statistically significant differences in attitudes towards PhotoMath were found concerning the level of education in which the teachers were employed, differences were observed in relation to their educational qualifications and work experience.
The conclusion of the study underscores the need for further research on the impact of technology on education and the adaptation of educational policies that support the integration of digital tools in mathematics teaching.
