Abstract

The paper’s objective was to present a system and compare the time and output-depreciation units of a fishing vessel as a specific fixed asset. In the paper, linear, degressive, and progressive methods and the methods pertaining to the output-depreciation units were applied. The depreciation of a fishing vessel is an economic reflection of a gradual wear-and-tear and decrease in value during business operations – that is, a gradual transition of the fishing vessel’s value into the value of fishing products. Because of the application of different depreciation methods, different depreciation amounts were obtained, leading to the varying annual-business results during the depreciation period.
