Abstract

The paper examines Kant’s understanding of the work of art and the aesthetic judgement of taste, on the one hand, and the categorical imperative, on the other, as well as space. The basic assumption, according to which the self-referential structure of the categorical imperative can be used for the needs of a different understanding of the antinomy related to the work of artistic genius and the aesthetic judgment of taste, is proved through Kant’s interpretation of space and geometry. In this way, and precisely on the basis of Kant’s reflections, there is a kind of reshaping and a different reading of the Kant’s views on the problems of aesthetics and ethics mentioned.
