Abstract
In the paper, the authors analyze the events and processes during the military uprisings on the southwestern battlefield and members of the k. u. k. 79th Infantry Regiment of the Joint Army from Otočac better known as “Jelačićevci” (k. u. k. Otočaner Infanterieregiment Graf Jellačić Nr. 79.), in Rijeka during the fall of 1918 and their transformation into the armed forces of the SHS State,
as well as their activities in Pula after the trial and the events in Rijeka during the severance of state ties with Austria-Hungary. The paper is based on original archival and other materials and available literature. The military terminology was adapted to the current official Croatian terminology, and where this was not possible, Croatian and Austrian terms were listed in comparison, especially for
military ranks and formations.
