A stylistic and comparative analysis of Meštrović’s sculptural achievements identifies their analogies with oral literature, with particular attention given to thematic and symbolic similarities. Additionally,
the paper provides an overview of Meštrović’s literary oeuvre, exploring the ways in which elements of folk literature were reflected in his texts. This paper seeks to illuminate the connection between the verbal and visual expression in Meštrović’s artistic creation, confirming his deep-rooted foundation in the tradition of folk storytelling.
