Optical potentials and form factors for alpha-particles and 12C ions scattered from 12C at intermediate energies

Abstract

Using high-energy double-folding formulae, the optical potentials and intrinsic form factors for alpha particles and 12C ions scattered from 12C nucleus at 1370 and 1016 MeV, respectively, are derived. The resulting potentials and form factors are compared with phenomenological and deformed Woods-Saxon potentials, respectively. The need to calculate cross sections using the present procedure is stressed.
