Abstract

Parallel with the development of new technologies grows the level of exposure to non-ionizing radiation with the sources of radiation affecting the environment more and more. When speaking of safety, the implementation of regulations relating to non-ionizing radiation requires a familiarity of both the European and national legal norms. The paper focuses on certain legal acts, their meaning and legal force, the procedures followed in their development, the realization of the rights that lean on the legal system of the European Union, all with the aim to understand the development of the currently in force regulations governing the protection measures for non-ionizing radiation in the Republic of Croatia. Listed are the international guidelines and recommendations resulting from scientific research aimed at protecting people and the environment from a variety of impacts of non-ionizing radiation that the Republic of Croatia has incorporated into its law and regulations.
