LANGUAGE AND STYLE IN THE PROSE WORKS OF SANJA PILIĆ

Abstract
T he paper presents the linguistic and stylistic features of Sanja Pilić’s prose literary work. It is composed of three parts, each of which meticulously analyzes stylistic features of the aforementioned writer’s prose. These include: proverbs, idioms, anglicisms, jargonims, neologisms, nonsense and irony, intertextuality, syntactic conciseness, phraseological modifications and sentence segmentation as hallmarks of her style. Approaching Sanja Pilić’s literary works as linguistic works of art, the paper analyzes her distinctive style, which exudes humor, wit and wordplay. It explores the linguistic and stylistic features of her selected narrative works. In addition to analysis and synthesis, the paper employs methods of definition, description, narration and classification in order to achieve its primary aim, to analyze the use of language, stylistic figures and stylemes as features of Sanja Pilić’s literary and artistic work.
