Abstract
The paper presents an Arduino project of building a CNC drawing machine.
The machine receives instructions from a computer in the form of G-code, which the
microcontroller translates into movements of stepper motors. The CNC machine is compact
and lightweight, which allows easy transport, and is inexpensive because recycled parts
are used. Hardware selection (Cytron UNO SE microcontroller, Tower Pro SG90 servo
motor, SM15DD stepper motors with controllers A4988, Arduino CNC shield V3) is
presented in detail. The process of building a CNC machine and two programs used to
send G-code instructions are also described in detail. The built CNC drawing machine is
suitable for a large number of users due to its low price and simplicity of the program used
by the system.
