Interactive Maps of ACI Marinas in the Republic of Croatia

Abstract

This paper explores the development process of a web GIS application featuring an interactive map of ACI marinas in Croatia. Interactive maps provide users with easy navigation and access to relevant information about marinas and their facilities. The aim of the study was to develop a digital solution that enhances the experience of sailors and tourists by providing up-to-date information and an intuitive user interface. The theoretical part explains the concepts of digital and web cartography and the significance of GIS technologies in modern nautical tourism. The practical part describes the process of data collection and processing, the definition of cartographic elements, and the creation of an interactive map using the ArcGIS Online platform. The map includes layers with information about marinas, accommodations, restaurants, ATMs, and other relevant amenities. The final product is a web GIS application that enables easy search and interaction with cartographic displays. The study highlights the importance of digital solutions in promoting and improving nautical tourism and opens opportunities for further development through the integration of additional functionalities such as meteorological data and reservation systems.
