Abstract

The Preparandium in Arbanasi was established in 1866 as the first college for male teachers with Croatian as the offi cial language in the classroom. The college had been continuously working until 1921, during which time three school reports were published. In this paper the reports are analysed and used for the reconstruction of the social environment of that period. The analysis has proven that school reports are a highly valuable source of information for historical-pedagogical research worthy of further investigation.
